1. How much is the cost if we utilize partners to setup SAFENTRIX?

2. How much does SAFENTRIX cost?

SAFENTRIX comes in two editions.

  1. Standard Edition: Standard Edition is absolutely free for any number of users and domains. All emails received by Standard Edition users will contain a one line text advertisement as a signature.

    An example is given below:

    This could either be an advertisement from SAFENTRIX or one of its clients.
  2. Enterprise Edition: Enterprise Edition is charged at the following rate per user per month. The service can be paid for and renewed on a monthly basis.

    Rate per user per month:

    US$ - 0.43 (43 Cents)
    INR - 17 (Seventeen)

With in the same domain, you can have some of them as Standard Edition users some of them as Enterprise Edition users.

3. Why is SAFENTRIX (Standard Edition) free?

All emails received by Standard Edition users will contain a one line text advertisement as a signature.

An example is given below:

This could either be an advertisement from SAFENTRIX or one of its clients. SAFENTRIX Clients pay for these advertisements and this revenue is used for operations.

That is how the SAFENTRIX Standard Edition is offered free.

4. Can we have SAFENTRIX Standard Edition users as well as Enterprise Edition users in the same domain?

Yes. As an example, if you have a total of 200 users, you can get Standard Service for 150 users and Enterprise Service for 50 users. You will end up paying only $21.50 per month ($0.43 * 50) for the 50 users.

5. What is Account cash balance?

While most of the Operations using SAFENTRIX Control panel are free, there are services (for example converting an user to Enterprise Service) that are chargeable.

The chargeable service checks if you have the requisite balance in your account and if so, performs the operation and reduces your account balance.

If the required amount is not there in the account, the operation fails.

If you do not have enough balance in your account, you can add to the account cash balance.

6. What are some of the chargeable operations in SAFENTRIX?

  1. Converting an user to Enterprise Service.
  2. Converting a set of users to Enterprise Service.
  3. Renewing services for an account that has some Enterprise service users.

7. How are renewals (for Enterprise Service) handled?

Every account is associated with a renewal date and account balance. This can be seen in the "Account Information" section in SAFENTRIX Control panel.

Renewals are handled by SAFENTRIX automatically. On your renewal date, SAFENTRIX calculates the amount required to renew all your Enterprise Edition users.

If the account has sufficient balance, full renewal is done, account balance deducted and renewal date is set appropriately.

If the account does not have sufficient balance, all Enterprise Edition users are converted to Standard Edition users (which is free). Therefore, users will experience no service interruption.

If the automatic switching to Standard Service happens, you will have to:

  1. Add sufficient balance to your account.
  2. Manually, re-convert all users who had been automatically switched to Standard Edition to Enterprise Service.

8. How do I add to Account Cash balance?

As on date, the following options are available to add to your account cash balance:

  1. Cheque payment
  2. Account transfer
  3. Online payment (Credit card, Debit Card, Net Banking).

9. How do I renew Enterprise Edition users for a period of more than 1 month (say 3 months, 6 months, etc.)?

SAFENTRIX renews Enterprise Edition users automatically on your renewal date (every month) as long as sufficient amount is present in your account cash balance.

If you want to renew for a period of more than one month, add the total renewal amount to your account cash balance.

Monthly renewal amount will be automatically deducted by SAFENTRIX every month and service for Enterprise Edition users will be renewed.

10. If an user/set of users are converted to Enterprise Edition from Standard Edition (which is free), what happens to the unutilized amount?

When an user/set of users are converted from Enterprise edition to Standard Edition, the unutilized amount is put back in the account balance.

The calculation for unutilized amount is done on a pro-rata basis.

11. How do we become a reseller for SAFENTRIX?

SAFENTRIX provides two kinds of partnership opportunities:

  1. Implementation Partner: These are technical partners who help local clients setup SAFENTRIX for their domains.

    A list of current Implementation partners is available at http://www.safentrix.com/partner.

    Any SAFENTRIX account holder can opt to be an Implementation partner and the process is as follows:

    + Register for a SAFENTRIX account.
    + Enable SAFENTRIX Services for your own domain.
    + Login to SAFENTRIX Control panel.
    + Goto "Account Information" page.
    + Click on "Enable listing as an Implementation Partner".
    + You will now be listed as an implementation partner.
     
  2. Distributors: Exclusive Distributorship for specific areas are available. This partnership provides for a revenue share and right to appoint your resellers.

12. Please explain Account balance concepts in SAFENTRIX

SAFENTRIX Enterprise Edition offers unparalleled pricing flexibility for organizations.

A typical Email Security vendor charges up-front for the services for a fixed amount of time (say 100 users for an year). If you want to add another user in the middle of a term, it is pretty much the same process and you have to pay for the full term (say an year).

SAFENTRIX, on the other hand, is very flexible. Users can be added/deleted any time, users can be converted to and from Enterprise Edition anytime.

Every SAFENTRIX account is associated with a monthly renewal date. You can find your account Renewal date following these instructions.

When a user is converted to Enterprise Edition, ONLY the amount (on pro-rata basis) for services till the next renewal date is charged from the SAFENTRIX account balance.

For example, if renewal date is 15-Sep-2009 and a user is converted to Enterprise Edition on 1-Sep-2009, SAFENTRIX account balance is debited (reduced) only by INR 8.50 (US$ 0.22).

On the other hand, if a user is deleted (or) converted from Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition, the account is credited (increased) with an amount equivalent to the unutilized service.

For example, if the renewal date is 15-Sep-2009 and a user is converted from Enterprise Edition to Standard Edition on 31-Aug-2009, SAFENTRIX account balance is credited (increased) by INR 8.50 (US$ 0.22).

If a user is converted to Enterprise Edition and converted back to Standard Edition the same day, the account balance gets reduced only by an equivalent of 1 day SAFENTRIX Charges, which is

  1. INR 0.55 (55 Paise) (OR)
  2. US$ 0.014 (1.4 Cents)

Similarly, renewals are handled on a month-by-month basis. Even if you recharge your account for multiple months, the actual Account balance gets reduced only on a monthly basis.

Compare this with plans from other vendors and you will immediately see its advantages.

13. How do I see my account Renewal date?

  1. Login to SAFENTRIX Control panel.
  2. Click on "Account Information".
  3. Account Renewal date can be seen in the "Renewal date" field.

14. What is Recharge Calculator?

Recharge Calculator helps SAFENTRIX account holders optimize their expenditure on Enterprise Edition.

Let us say today's date is 30-Aug-2009 and renewal date is 15-Sep-2009.

If you want to have Enterprise Edition for 1 user for a month, you have to consider the following charges:

  1. Pro-rata charges for Enterprise Edition till next renewal date (which is 15-Sep-2009)
  2. Charges for Enterprise Edition for 1 month (from 15-Sep-2009 to 15-Oct-2009).
  3. Current account cash balance.

This is a complex calculation.

15. What is the calculation done by Recharge Calculator?

Given the number of users and duration (in number of months), Recharge calculator does the following:

  1. Calculate charge for Enterprise Edition service for given number of users till next renewal date.
  2. Calculate charge for Enterprise Edition service for given number of users for given number of months.
  3. Add the above two figures and Subtract the current account balance.

16. How do I work with Recharge Calculator?

Before working with recharge calculator, keep the following details ready:

  1. Number of users you want to have Enterprise Edition service for.
  2. Duration (in number of months)

Once you have the details, follow these steps:

  1. Login to SAFENTRIX Control panel using your account details.
  2. Click on "Account Information".
  3. Click on "Recharge" button.
  4. Enter the number of users (max: 20000), in the "Number of users" edit box.
  5. Enter the number of months (max: 60), in the "Number of months" edit box.
  6. Click on "Update".

Recharge Calculator displays the following output:

  1. Amount to add to your cash balance for Enterprise Edition services is displayed in "Recharge Amount (INR)" field.
  2. The date the Enterprise Service will be valid till is displayed in "Valid till" field (in YYYY-MM-DD format).

The Recharge calculator page also displays additional links to help you complete the transactions.

17. How can US/International clients pay for SAFENTRIX Enterprise Service Edition users?

US/International clients can pay for the SAFENTRIX Enterprise Service edition using Credit card. There is a US$ 1.00 fee per payment transaction (in addition to the amount to be recharged).

To pay, please follow these steps:

  1. Use the recharge calculator to find out the recharge amount following these instructions.
  2. The calculator will display the recharge amount.
  3. The calculator displays the amount your Credit card will be charged in the "Total charges (US$)" field.
  4. Click on "Submit".
  5. SAFENTRIX Account balance recharge can only be used towards SAFENTRIX Services and is not refundable.
  6. You will be asked to confirm that you agree with the above condition.
  7. Once you confirm, you will be redirected to Credit card site.
  8. Enter your credit card details as well as address details (if different from account details).
  9. Upon successful payment,
    1. You will be emailed a "Payment Receipt".
    2. Your account balance will be automatically incremented.
    3. Within 3 Business days, a paper Invoice will be emailed to you.
  10. You can check that the account balance has been incremented following these instructions.

18. Is SAFENTRIX Credit card processing Secure?

Yes.

SAFENTRIX uses Paypal, an Industry leader in payment processing, to accept Credit cards. Paypal has 150 million accounts and processes transactions in excess of US$32 Billion per year.

All payment information including Credit card and other details are handled by Paypal Secure pages.

Payment information is passed using High Security SSL between SAFENTRIX and Paypal.

Additionally, SAFENTRIX does not store your credit card details.

19. How can clients from India pay for SAFENTRIX Enterprise Service Edition users?

Clients from India can pay for the SAFENTRIX Enterprise Service edition by Online payment (Net Banking/Credit Card) or sending a Cheque/DD. There is a 15% Service tax applicable and this should be added to the Recharge amount.

To pay, please follow these steps:

  1. Use the recharge calculator to find out the recharge amount following these instructions.
  2. The calculator will display the recharge amount.
  3. Calculator displays the applicable services taxes in "Service Tax (15%)" field.
  4. Calculator displays the total amount for the recharge (including Service tax) in "Total charges (INR)" field.
  5. Instructions for making the payment will be displayed. Kindly follow them to make the payment.
  6. Once the payment is received,
    1. Your account balance will be credited with the recharge amount.
    2. Within 3 Business days, a paper Invoice will be emailed to you.
  7. You can check that the account balance has been incremented following these instructions.

20. I had Recharged my account for 10 users from 30-Aug-2009 till 15-Dec-2009. However I have received an email on 15-Nov-2009 saying that there is insufficient balance to renew the SAFENTRIX Enterprise Edition users. What is wrong?

This can occur if you had more than the given number of SAFENTRIX Enterprise Edition users at some point of time between the recharge date and validity date.

Recharge adds the cash balance to your SAFENTRIX account. Once added, the balance can be used for all SAFENTRIX chargeable operations. Additionally, SAFENTRIX account renewals are processed on a month-by-month basis.

This means that some of your cash balance was utilized for providing services for additional SAFENTRIX Enterprise Edition users.

That automatically reduced the balance and you do not have sufficient balance for the renewal.

Please note that this situation can arise even if you had created just one additional user at some point of time and used it for a very short period of time.

21. I made a credit card transaction and my account balance is still not credited fully. What's wrong?

Normally, account balances are credited as soon as a successful transaction takes place.

However, in a few cases, the credit card processor may flag some transactions for manual verification. In that case, your transaction will be manually verified. Till the verification is complete, the account will have the old balance.

Once the verification is complete, your account will be credited with the amount.

This may take a maximum of 24 hours.

22. I used the Recharge calculator to renew users for a month and the calculator displayed a price. The average price per user seems to be more than what is specified in the FAQ. What's wrong?

This could be due to one or both of the following reasons:

  1. There is a transaction fee of US$ 1.00 per Credit card transaction.
  2. Recharge calculator always takes the duration (in this case 1 month) from the next renewal date. This means that the actual duration may be more than a month. Please check the "Valid till" field displayed by the Recharge calculator and you will find that it is not exactly one month from the current date, but one month from next renewal date.

If you take both the above into consideration, you will find that the per user charges mentioned in FAQ are correct.

23. How do I see my account balance?

  1. Login to SAFENTRIX Control panel.
  2. Click on "Account Information".
  3. The Account Cash Balance can be seen in the "Cash Balance" field.
